BUTTING has an annual purchasing volume which averages of more than EUR 190 million and a processed tonnage of 40,000 t. Hence the procuring of our raw materials, process and operating supplies assumes great importance. As a result of the increasing globalisation of the stainless steel market and the restructuring of many value added chains which goes hand in hand with it, our own competitiveness is linked more closely than ever to a strong network of efficient suppliers.

The selection of our suppliers takes place in line with the high quality demands of BUTTING and with our company philosophy, which puts an honest and reliable partnership right at the forefront of our “teamwork centre”.

With regard to the optimum coordination and control of our procurement processes, purchasing at BUTTING is divided into three types of goods:

- Raw materials (coils and steel plates)

- Semi-finished products

- Process and operational products, investment goods and utilities, services
