Generally, riser pipes and line pipes are subject to high pressures and corrosion environments.

Since 1978 BUTTING has been a very successful supplier of special pipes for the oil and gas industry, i. e. for onshore and offshore as well as subsea projects and could demonstrate its expert knowledge regarding welding, forming and materials technology. We produce flowlines, riser pipes and others for topsides (platform FPSO) as well as line pipes. The mechanically bonded BuBi® is a very economic option and can be used in various applications. Up to now, BUTTING has produced more than 130 000 tons of pipes in duplex and superduplex for renowned customers all over the world, viz: ExxonMobil, STATOIL, NAM, TotalFinaElf and GULF.

For projects in water depths of more than 1 000 metres, we produce special metallurgically clad riser pipes in welded construction with very tight tolerances. BUTTING had to break new grounds regarding welding and production technologies in order to comply with the latest technical requirements.
