BUTTING Group – Management

Hermann Butting was born and grew up in Knesebeck and is now the head of the company in the seventh generation. In 1993 Mr. Butting obtained a Bcom degree at the University of Stuttgart, which also included technical training. In the following years he worked for various companies of various sectors and was mainly involved in economic management projects in Germany and abroad. He also studied welding technology. In September 1996 he started his work at BUTTING as assistant to the Managing Director. As of 1st April 2000 Mr. Butting is President of the company and his responsibilities are marketing, human resources and accounting.

Thomas Schüller was also born and grew up in Knesebeck. In 1984 he started to work for BUTTING and first served an apprenticeship as material tester. Due to his outstanding performance he was awarded a grant and studied materials technology at the technical college in Osnabrück. He obtained a BSc degree. After his studies he returned to BUTTING and worked in our QA department and was involved in all matters relating to welding. In 1994 he attended courses in welding and obtained a European degree. In 1999 he became Manager of the production of pipes from plate. On 1st April 2002 Mr. Schüller was appointed Managing Director and is responsible for production at H. BUTTING GmbH & Co. KG.

Dr Iris Rommerskirchen was born and grew up at the Lower Rhine. In 1992, she obtained a diploma in chemistry and worked as scientific assistant to Professor Grabke at the Max-Plank-Institut für Eisenforschung, in a research programme dealing with high temperature corrosion. In 1995 she obtained her PhD degree at the University of Dortmund and her thesis dealt with the oxidation behaviour of ß-NiAl and ß-FeAl as well as iron-aluminium alloys. She started her career as project manager of an R + D programme at ThyssenKrupp VDM GmbH. She became Manager of the application technology department and left her post in 2001 in order to join BUTTING as assistant to the Managing Director. On 1st April 2002 she was appointed Managing Director. Her areas of responsibility are sales, purchasing and quality at H. BUTTING GmbH & Co. KG.

Markus Bartsch was born and grew up in the Swabian hills. In 1989 he gradu- ated from the technical college in Aalen and as best of his term he obtained a BSc degree. He started his career as trainee in an educational programme pro- vided by the Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, where he would work for 10 years as sectional leader. In 1999 he became Works Manager at the VAW com- bine in the automotive industry. In the summer of 2002 he was appointed Managing Director of our works in Schwedt near the Oder river.
