BUTTING – Heat resisting furnace roller BUTTING HeRo®

One innovation of BUTTING is the BUTTING HeRo® (Heat resisting Roller) made of special alloys, like Alloy 602 CA, 601 H or 800 H.

Furnace rollers are integral parts of most of the heat treatment plants used for the production of long and flat products in the metal industry.

Most of the furnace rollers used hitherto are water cooled, cause considerable energy and maintenance costs and are not noted for their longevity. This is where our newly developed uncooled furnace roller comes in very handy: the BUTTING HeRo® offers a long service life due to its very low tendency to oxi- dation and minor mechanical wear. This means a considerable cost reduction, as furnace stand-stills and high maintenance costs are avoided. The energy costs are also decreased, as cooling with water can be dispensed with. After many years in service, such a roller would not be scrapped as before, but its original condition may be restored by selective calibration at BUTTING.

Renowned companies, like ThyssenKrupp VDM, ALZ and MKM have been using our BUTTING HeRo® successfully, which would be designed and produced to suit any specific annealing requirement.

Generally, the BUTTING HeRo® can be produced in outside diameters from NB 100 up to NB 700 and wall thicknesses of up to 60 mm. The outside diameter/ wall thickness ratio would be approx. 10:1.

Conclusion: Both from an economical and ecological point of view, the BUTTING HeRo® has the stuff of a real hero.
