BUTTING in Knesebeck

BUTTING is deeply rooted in Knesebeck, in the district of Gifhorn, Lower Saxony. We have had our home here since 1945. Initially based in the Knesebeck rifle clubhouse, we began rebuilding production in 1949 on the site of a disused brickyard.

Since then, we have grown continuously, thanks to our expertise, courage, diligence and innovations, and through a growing market for our stainless steel products. On the works site, which now stretches to more than 450,000 m², more than 40,000 t of stainless steels are processed each year.

Today, BUTTING is one of the largest employers of the region. More than 1,000 employees work at the factory in Knesebeck, and just under 90 apprentices are continually trained in 9 different occupations.

The focus of the activities in Knesebeck lies in manufacturing longitudinally welded pipes from coil and plate, processing into ready-to-install piping components as part of comprehensive prefabrication capacities, and in pipe technology.
