BUTTING – Helping the environment

Greater awareness of ecological matters since the end of the 1970s has led to demands for a progressive reduction in pollutant emissions from the operation of industrial plants and of the sustained use of natural resources. In terms of process technology, helping the environment places demands on almost all areas of a plant due to aggressive chemical, thermal and mechanical effects.

BUTTING has been a reliable and skilled partner of environmental technology companies for over 30 years. We produce, for example, piping components ready for assembly, vessels and special components for flue gas desulphurisation plants and flare stack tips from materials such as duplex, superduplex, superaustenitic materials and titanium- and nickel-based alloys. Virtually 100% factory prefabrication guarantees much higher product quality and substantial cost-cutting potential.

BUTTING's years of experience and extensive expertise in forming and welding highly corrosion-resistant materials was proven, for example, in 2003 during a project to manufacture internals for what is currently the world's largest flue gas scrubber (Ø approx. 21 m, height 95 m), owned by Canadian oil company Syncrude: we delivered pipeline systems and a maintenance platform made of nickel-based alloys with a total weight in excess of 180 t on schedule. In this project, very tight tolerances, such as a deviation of = 1mm/m from a straight line, had to be implemented.

We are also a reliable partner for cost-effective problem solving using premium quality stainless steel in a manner that protects the environment.
